Level 2 Award in Relevant Person’s Representative (Distance Learning):

The role of an RPR is crucial to ensure the rights of those who are deprived of their liberty are upheld; enabling their voices to be heard and ensuring their views, wishes, and feelings are represented.

Libra offer the only RPR qualification in the UK, designed to provide the advocate with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to perform the role. This course would benefit practicing RPRs, those wish to become an RPR, and those who wish to learn more about the role.

The Level 2 RPR Qualification is delivered online, can be completed at the pace of the learner, and provides:

  • A comprehensive understanding of the legislation affecting people who may be subject to ‘Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards’
  • The process of a Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards authorisations
  • The role of an RPR within the context of a Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards assessments
  • Instructed and non-instructed advocacy within the role of the RPR
  • Knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act and why it is important for the role of an RPR

The Mental Capacity Act & The Mental Health Act

Mental Capacity Act Training has been developed to provide clear information regarding the principles of the Mental Capacity Act such as assessing capability and best interest decision making, and how to apply these principles in practice. 

Mental Health Act Training has been developed to provide clear information regarding the principles of the Mental Health Act and gives students a much deeper knowledge of the legislation surrounding mental health.

These training courses would benefit anyone working in the care sector including nurses, mental health practitioners, care assistants and other legal professionals.

Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults

This training course covers all core aspects of vulnerable adult protection including helping staff and advocates recognise the potential signs of abuse, as well as showing them how to report and record allegations. This course would benefit anyone working in a health and social role with vulnerable adults.

DoLS & Section 21A Application to the Court of Protection

A Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) focuses on the preservation of a person’s liberty and is governed by law. This course will provide students with a clear understanding of their responsibilities in safeguarding liberty and the correct procedure to follow for lawful deprivation where appropriate.

The Court of Protection is a specialist court, which deals with decisions affecting people aged 16 or over, who may lack capacity to make specific decisions. A Section 21A application is requested to vary or discharge a Deprivation of Liberty authorisation.

Level 4 Certificate in Essential Supervision Skills:

Libra Partnership Ltd, in conjunction with Therapy Partners, have designed a stand-alone Level 4 Award in Supervision for all health and social care professionals. The Award is delivered online, can be completed at the pace of the learner, and covers:

  • The function of supervision and how it can improve staff performance, resilience, and staff retention.
  • Supervision models and how they might be applied in professional practice.
  • The advantages and disadvantages of peer, group, and managerial supervision.
  • The supervision contract.
  • The legislation surrounding confidentiality, recording, and storing of information.
